Walk A Mile In Her Shoes

Saturday, October 1, 2016 11:00am - 12:30pm
Location: Town Hall - Hurontario Street

They say: "You can't really understand another person's experiences until you've walked a mile in their shoes." Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® asks men to literally walk one mile in women's high-heeled shoes. It's not easy walking in these shoes, but it is fun and it gets our community talking about something that's really difficult to talk about: violence against women.

‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes’ is an event benefitting My Friend's House, which has been providing safe refuge and support to abused women and their children in the Georgian Triangle for 25 years. Men get involved because their grandmother, their mother, their sister, their friend, their daughter or their co-worker could have or did receive help from My Friend's House.

Although only men can register to participate (each man is asked to raise a minimum of $100), women play a huge part in this event by encouraging men to take part, assisting them in fundraising to reach their goal and cheering them on during the event.

Start thinking about who you'd like to see getting "PUMPED!!" in this one of a kind 1 mile walk in high heels. Register Today!
